Our Story

How it all started...

Rolling Plains was dedicated on August 28 and 29, 1871 by Rev. John Burns with more than 200 people in attendance. For over 150 years, God has performed miracle after miracle as RP changed locations, completed building projects, established partnerships with local schools and area service programs, and sent teams of people to serve in our community and around the world.

Expanding the vision...

Over the years God has expanded this small country church into a large regional, multi-staff church that reaches into 8 different school districts in Muskingum County and beyond. As a result we have a large family oriented ministry that meets the needs of all ages and any family make up including singles. We are reaching into our Nation in Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, and West Virginia. Across the globe we have been engaged in ministry in Thailand, Liberia, Kenya, Haiti, Guatemala, Vietnam, and other countries. God has truly expanded our vision and continues to grow our reach with plenty of room for your family. Come and see what God is up to.

Where we are headed...

As Rolling Plains begins a new path as part of the Global Methodist Church, we are believing God will do more than we could ever ask for or imagine. God is moving in our church community, awakening people to His love and calling them into action. Our best days are ahead, and we will continue to dream big and pray hard in anticipation of all the ways God will change lives through us in years to come!
